Four Hikes, February 7, 2014

This week we had a first that went well. It is the first time we have ever had four hikes on the same day. We had a short and a long hike to Fat Man's Pass. A short hike on the Thunderbird Trail and a long hike on the Wassen Peak Loop in Saguaro National Park. Whew! We had a total of 50 people, 31 on the two long hikes and 19 on the short hikes. We had good weather and the new system worked well and had the effect we wanted; to reduce the number of vehicles at the trailheads.

With four hikes, we had plenty of photos ( near 150 of them) but I can't post them all so I took some from each hike. Thanks to Barry for the photos on the Thunderbird hike. I have no photos from the Wassen Peak hike, so if anyone has some and sends them to me I will post them. Here we go.

Idaho Pass, Blue Ridge and Bulldog Canyon, Blue Ridge Hikes - January 31, 2014

There was a large turnout this Friday and we had a good hike in the beautiful Goldfield Mountains. It was a bit windy at times, especially on the ridge but it was not strong enough to cause a problem. It was a real treat to have Ray Fredericks and his two daughters Kathy and Barb with us. We hope Ray will be back with us soon.

Thanks to Mike Marsters for the next two photos.
