March 26, 2011 - Work Party
This was our fifth and last work party of the year. We had fun and built a lot of trail as it was easier going than the parts we had been working on. Palm Creek hikers donated 351 manhours to this project this winter and I would like to thank everyone who donated time to it. I would also like to thank Wendell Johnson for sponsoring the lunch and Marilyn Goeken and her crew for preparing and serving it.

Monday Hike - East Goldfields
I don't usually post photos of our Monday hikes but the one we did this week was something special. It was an almost completely off-trail hike up to and along ridges, descents to washes and hikes through canyons. The route was over rocks, on sliprock and down hillsides covered in scree. We were treated to some absolutely magnificent views including Canyon Lake and Saguaro Lake. It was a long, hard day but worth the effort. I hope you emjoy the photos!
