It was an exceptional weather day for late November; sunny, warm and very clear. We took advantage of the day and had a great hike to the saddle between the Kings Canyon trail and the Sweetwater trail, where we had lunch. On the return trip we stopped to view the stone house and the petroglyphs.

Baby Jesus Loop Hike, November 21, 2014
The road into the trailhead left a bit to be desired but we made it in with the aid of a lot of pickup trucks. It was worth the ride as we had just a fabulous day in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. That is a very scenic and special place and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on the hike.. The backdrop of the mountains, the varied vegetation and the rock formations all add up to an exceptional experience.

Dixie Mine/Prospector Trails Hike, November 14, 2014
We had another good day of hiking. The weather was just right with temperatures in the low seventies and cloud cover. Quite a change from last week. The hike took us on a slow climb through some interesting scenery up to Thompson Peak Road and then down to the petroglyphs at the end of a short trail. We then went west to the Prospector Trail and climbed to a scenic overlook, where we had lunch. We returned to the trailhead by the same trail and were just behind the short hike group.
Dixie Mine Hike
The shorter hike was to Dixie Mine and then the petroglyphs, where this group had lunch and then hiked back to the trailhead on the same trail.
