The long hike was not that long today at only 4.25 miles. We changed the scheduled hike location of Fat Man's Pass due to a wind storm that was forecast to arrive at 11:00. We ended up even shortening the second hike as we could see the dust clouds starting to form. By the time we got to the trailhead at 10:45, the dust was blowing across the road and we quickly headed for home. It was a good hike and we introduced some people to the Casa Grande Mountain trial system.
Here are some photos of the short hike group from the Sunset Trail hike and the Casa Grande Mountain hikes on November 8th and November 15th.

Arnett Creek Hike - November 8, 2013
It was the first hike of the year and a new one for the group. 26 people turned out and we had a great time. We stopped to look for Apache Tears and found some. We then hiked up one canyon along a creek and between steep canyon walls before crossing a creek and hiking up a second canyon with terrific views of interesting rock formations. We climbed out of the canyon and had lunch at a rock outcrop with an arch and some more interesting formations. There were numerous rock pieces of pearl-like bubbles in stone and quite a few folks picked up souvenirs. We hiked back by the same route.
