Picketpost South Hike, January 25, 2013

We were expecting that it might rain on us on this hike as we gathered in the parking lot but it turned out to be a mix of sun and cloud and got quite warm by the time we finished up. It was great weather for a hike. This is an enjoyable hike at the base of Picketpoist Mountain and up into a valley to the south. We met three adventursome young women who were hiking the Arizona Trail for long distances. Oh to be young again!

Phoneline Hike, January 18, 2013

We had the biggest turnout of the year for this hike, with quite a few new people as well as some old friends who hiked for the first time this season. The longer hike took the Phoneline trail and then the Rattlesnake Canyon trail before heading back to the Visitor's Center. The shorter hike did the Phoneline trail and some took the tram back and some walked back on the road. The tram ride up the canyon was a bit cool but it soon warmed up and we had a beautiful day for hiking.
